Araluen Botanic Park is proud to announce its sponsorship of two prestigious awards at this year’s highly anticipated Perth Garden Festival. The panel of judges for this year’s awards comprised of Deryn Thorpe, Andrea Whitely, John Colwill, and Darren Seinor. With their wealth of experience and expertise, they evaluated each display according to specific criteria. The judges focused on factors such as visual appeal, clear signage, the presence of a focal element, and the effective showcasing of products or plants. Additionally, they assigned points to exhibits that demonstrated considerable time, effort, and meticulous planning.
After careful deliberation, the winners and runners-up for each category were determined. In the Best in Show Exhibitor category for non-Nursery displays, Birds the Word claimed the runner-up position, while the prestigious winner’s title went to Baileys. In the Nursery category, Tucker Bush secured the runner-up position, while the coveted Best in Show Exhibitor award was awarded to Fickle Prickles.
The Show Garden category showcased exceptional creativity and innovation, making the judging process particularly challenging. Heartspace Gardens secured the runner-up position, while The Forever Project emerged as the Best in Show show garden, stunning the judges and visitors alike. Araluen is proud to have sponsored this award, after receiving Best in Show show garden in 2022.
Recognizing the significant contributions made to the Perth Garden Festival, the Best Contribution to PGOLF 2023 award celebrated individuals or organizations that went above and beyond. Carole Fudge from Benara Nurseries was acknowledged as the runner-up, while the winner of this esteemed accolade was Coast Road Palms. Araluen is proud to have also sponsored this award.

Their unwavering commitment to promoting excellence in horticulture has truly made a difference. The Perth Garden Festival, with its captivating displays and inspiring exhibits, continues to be a testament to the passion and talent of Western Australia’s horticulture and landscape industries.
