Perth Garden Festival – Show Gardens Best in Show!

Last Thursday October 27th the Araluen Team opened our Garden of Note show garden at the Perth Garden Festival. After months of preparations and a week of bump-in it was a momentous day for all involved. In the hope of promoting memberships and weddings at the Park, the Team constructed a display with elements of the garden and the structures at Araluen.

As the Perth Garden Festival gates opened streams of visitors entered the grounds and it quickly became apparent that our show garden was well received. Photos were taken and compliments given often throughout the day.  By Friday morning Araluen had been awarded Best in Show Display Garden! We are so proud with this outcome as the Team worked incredibly hard to deliver such a magical display. We can’t wait to participate again next year.

Araluen’s Garden of Note display was inspired by the idea to bring the Park into the heart of the city, in a way that was interactive and engaging.  As you enter the display you cross a wooden bridge and walk towards a vintage piano draped in Roses – the perfect photo spot and opportunity for interaction. To your left you’ll notice a wooden gazebo (resembling the pergola structure repeated throughout the Park). This gazebo is once again draped in beautiful Roses, bringing in the spring bloom featured at Araluen. In the display you will find another bridge, and a hand-built stone pond resembling the Grove of the Unforgotten. Araluen’s Garden of Note featured spring flowering Roses, Wisteria, Prunus, and even Water Lillies, among others. Despite the wind and rain over the weekend, our display remained intact and made it through the four-day festival unscathed.

Araluen is so pleased to have been awarded by the Nursery and Garden Industry WA. Our Team put so much effort into this display and we’re glad everyone else thought it was as impressive as we did!

Yours Sincerely,
