Park Etiquette

The established Etiquette is to guide and respond to enquiries on appropriate code of conduct or activities with the Park for the enjoyment and safety of visitors. These rules provide a tranquil atmosphere for everyone while visiting Araluen Park. Management reserve the right to deny entry or remove person(s) acting in contravention of our rules. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

  • All persons on Araluen Botanic Park property must follow the rules and direction of staff.
  • Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the premises.
  • Visitors must conduct themselves in a respectful manner; obscene language or clothing, abusive behaviour or violence will not be tolerated and will result in removal from The Park.
  • Please stay on paths and be respectful of our plants; do not pick flowers or fruit, or step in flower beds.
  • Hygiene policy applies for any groups or persons wishing to access the bushland and is only permitted by agreement with management.

  • Youths must be supervised, and children must always remain directly at your side and under control.
  • By pre-arrangement, chaperones responsible for the care and control of children, youth groups or other special needs groups may be provided with complimentary admission.
  • Wheelchairs, Gophers and children’s strollers are not available at the Park; Visitors must bring their own mobility equipment if it is required.
  • Visitors with wider-than-average wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or strollers must be patient and use extra caution as certain areas may not be easily accessible.
  • Photography is welcome but should not interfere with the enjoyment of other visitors.
  • Commercial Photographers incur fees to do filming, still or video photography within the Park. Permission can be obtained in writing by Araluen CEO. Certificates of Currency and appropriate licenses must be provided for any persons wishing to fly drone devices across or within the Park grounds.
  • Costumes and costume play of any type, including historic or period dress, masks or attire that may create a distraction are not permitted as they could be mistaken for entertainers or interpreters hired by Araluen and could detract from the experience of other visitors. Insurance and security considerations require strict adherence to this policy.
  • Wedding parties, wedding photos, ceremonies, or clothing resembling wedding attire are not permitted in The Park, except as authorised during our Wedding Season, Mid-October to Early August.

  • Please use quiet voices in all areas of Park. It expected that unruly, loud or aggressive voices will not be used in the Park.
  • No alcohol is allowed on the premises; our café or vendors will be pleased to serve you

  • Only Certified Guide & Service dogs are permitted in the Park, cafe and venues
  • Pets are not permitted inside The Park.

The following activities are prohibited while visiting The Park:

  • Throwing, catching, or kicking games, running, or jogging.
  • Wheeled-shoes, rollerblades, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, or other recreational wheeled devices.
  • Use of drones or kites.
  • Any Commercial Photography that purports or suggests either a garden, plant or product is endorsed by Araluen through use of destination imagery.

  • Music or unauthorized musical or other performances.
  • Use of flashes for photographing or filming
  • Fireworks.
  • Distribution of any outside literature, petitions or selling of raffle tickets by external parties
  • Lobbying or petitioning in the Park
  • NO use of external BBQ’s of any kind is permitted
